We harvested some of the corn and “simply delicious” lived up to its name!

Below: Searching for watermelons. If the animals don’t eat the watermelons, we should have a great crop!
Below: Goats are supposed to eat just about anything, but this is not always true. We tested Polk salad, lettuce, and carrot tops in the fence to see what they would try. The goats immediately ate the carrot tops. It wasn’t until we put the left over lettuce in the hay crib that they would even consider eating it.
The pumpkins are looking good and growing fast.



Below: Ike helps the insects spread pollen. The female pumpkin flowers only open in the early morning, and there are fewer female flowers blooming than male pumpkin flowers. It is important to ‘assist’ nature, if you want a good pumpkin corp.
