Pear tree blooming, watermelon on the vines, the Audubon Aquarium, and family pictures from New Orleans, BR, Tennessee, DC, and Wisconsin.

The pear tree has blossoms. The pear tree looks healthy for now and hopefully it will continue to thrive.

The watermelon plants that are located outside of the goat yard have many different size melons. If the deer do not descend upon the vines, we may just harvest a watermelon in a few weeks.

The Audubon Aquarium in New Orleans has reopened after an extensive renovation. The Insectarium is now inside the same building. There are definite changes in the flow and in many of the exhibits. You can now view the large tank from above over a railing. Another addition is a one year-old Sloth that was born in the Audubon Zoo. Unfortunately, the bird feeding is no longer a part of the Aquarium. The old owl and the hawk are still in the swamp exhibit, as well as a new smaller owl. A Toucan is also in the Sloth exhibit.

Watch the trainers at the Aquarium feed the new Sloth.
