It is time to disc the fields for planting. The fields are disced to break up the plants and solid ground. When there is a forecast of rain, we will till, then spread seeds. The seed mix that we choose contains a mixture of plants that will grow at different time of the year to feed the deer, turkeys, and other wildlife on the farm.

We planted bush beans and only 4 sprouted at the far end of picture 1. We replaced the last few spots with watermelon vines. Pictures 2 and 3 are new pumpkins that just might ripen before Halloween. Picture 4 is Bruce harvesting a pumpkin after the deer have completely eaten the vine.

We still have a bear on the trail camera, but this one seems smaller than the bear from a few weeks ago. We don’t see a collar, so this is not the female bear that was tagged and collared at the church a mile from the farm. Look at the poor condition of the coyote in slides 5-7. He is showing up on the trail cameras, but we have not seen him in person. The cameras also tell us that we still have a bear (or bears) on the property.
The following video of ‘feeding the turtles and the duck’ was shot at Eli’s FIRST BIRTHDAY Party. Everyone had a wonderful time. Many of the smaller turtles were red ear turtles. The larger turtle is a snapping turtle.

Nothing like Camping Out in a tent with your brother (in the back yard because of the age of the campers). Monroe and Colson are camping in Tennessee.
