Watermelon, baby bluebirds’ first feathers, and “MY WISH”

The watermelon is still growing rapidly. Note the change in size. We will switch to a ruler soon instead of using our hands and boots to show the change in size.

Our baby bluebirds now have some feathers. These birds were born a week ago. They still don’t have their eyes open, though (or they are sound to sleep).

One of our cherry trees (below left) from Fast Growing Trees did not make it. The horticulturist from this company spent time with us on the phone to determine possible problems. Then the company sent us a replacement tree. I can’t say enough good things about the support this company provides. I am also glad we purchased the insurance on each of our trees from Fast Growing Trees.

Bruce put the hills around the corn and transplanted the three stalks from the first two rows. Now we have room for our bush beans when the seeds arrive.

We met Ja’Marr’s grandparents, Betty and Clim, in the New Orleans airport when Ja’Marr signed with the LSU Tigers. Betty and Clim are a lovely couple and are proud of their grandson. Betty and Clim just texted the picture below to me. Ja’Marr comes from a great family and is upholding their family tradition of doing things for others.

English Tip of the DAY:

ME, MYSELF, and I simplified. These three words can make you sound uneducated if used incorrectly. If you do the action in a sentence use “I”. “Joe and I went to the store.” Use the word “me” after the action word or after the words “to”, “for”, or “with”. For example, “He cut me”, or “Give it to me”. In general, “Myself” IS ONLY USED if you did the action to yourself as in “I sent an email to myself as a reminder”, or “I did it to myself”. If you did not do the action, use me, not “myself” as in “You may return the papers to me”.
