We are waiting for the hummingbirds to arrive.

Hummers are trickling in, but we have only seen 4 at a time. Below is a video of last year as the hummingbirds were stocking up on food to fly South for the winter.

We fill 7 feeders at the height of the hummingbird season. The feeders are filled with 4 parts water and 1 part sugar. Do not color the syrup. The color of the hummingbird feeder is enough to attract the hummingbirds. We have two different size feeders and we interchange them depending on how many birds are visiting. The syrup will sour or spoil in the heat of the summer if left too long, so fill your feeders to last about 5 to 7 days.

These are the pictures of the butterflies on the zinnias last year. We will be posting more pictures as the butterflies arrive.
