Third time is a charm with Basil. We planted and it froze. We planted and it froze again. This time, I think we will actually get some healthy plants and get to make some pesto.

The basil plants are the light green plants by the fence. The dark green bush that is going wild is the parsley (it survived the last two freezes), and the oregano is in the foreground. The oregano also survived the last two freezes.

These two pictures are the cilantro (Coriander in some parts of the world). When the flowers form seeds, we will have Coriander. Essentially, the leaves are called Cilantro and the seeds are called Coriander. Why they name this plant two different names is anybody’s guess.
Did you know that some people possess a gene that makes Cilantro taste like soap. I can’t imagine anything worse than taking a bite of food and tasting a mouth full of soap. Don’t worry, if you are one of the few who have a problem with cilantro, you already know to avoid cilantro on your food!
