One of our Atlantic Giants was doing quite well until the deer discovered the delicious flavor of pumpkins. Note the thickness of this pumpkin’s wall. It smelled delicious.
We took the rest of this beautiful pumpkin and rolled it into the goat yard. After 24 hours, the goats also decided that pumpkin was delicious. They ate the rest of this pumpkin. Unfortunately, the goats then went pumpkin hunting.
Below is an Atlantic Giant pumpkin which started growing on the fence. The goats took a bite out of this pumpkin and the pumpkin on the ground through the fence. Guess anything the goats can reach is on their menu.
There are three pumpkin patches that are not fenced and three patches that are fenced. Below are pictures of one of the fenced patches. Notice that the vines have started to grow on top of the bird netting. There are also Connecticut pumpkins on the fence and the ground. The goats get to eat anything that grows into their yard, and obviously anything they can reach in the fenced gardens.
Below: This pumpkin patch is on the hill and unfenced. Look at the destruction of the vines. I think it is safe to say that our deer are now pumpkin connoisseurs.
Below: We did harvest three beautiful Conneticut pumpkins today.

That is so cool ur goats love pumpkins! we have tried to give them to our goats many times, but our goats tend to be picky and ignore them.
It took our goats about 24-48 hours before they touched the pumpkins. Same with corn on the cob. We left it and they finally ate it. They also love zinnia flowers and leaves
