Below: Slides 1 & 2 are of the new pears on our tree at the farm. Slides 3-7 are pictures of Mayhaw fruit from the tree Preston planted on an island in Louisiana. If anyone ever gives you Mayhaw jelly, you will know they really like you. First you have to brave the thorns to pick the fruit. Then after picking the fruit, you will discover the berry is mostly seeds. It takes a LOT of Mayhaw berries to get enough juice to make the jelly. Truly, Mayhaw jelly is a ‘labor of love’.
