The new Kid is named Demie! (Female for half)

Just like human infants, new kids eat, eat, eat, and sleep. Unlike human infants, new kids hop, grow very fast, and hide. Demie has grown almost an inch taller since birth (just a week ago). If the mom has not called her kid, or leaves her kid alone, a new kid hides. Demie has found a crawl-space under the goat barn to hide. We cannot see ‘hide nor hair’ of Demie until her mama calls. When mama calls, we can hear Demie answer and then Demie suddenly appears to. . . You guessed it… nurse her mama.

Yesterday we were able to take the goats to Big Field. We were unable to get Demie to leave the goat yard, so we picked her up and took her to the Big Field. There were too many hiding places to allow Demie any freedom on Big Field, so we held her the entire visit. Today, we got most of the goats there, when Skippy decided she was not going. Padme would not leave Skipy, so Padme stood on the hill and screamed. Goats are herd animals and stick together. It only took a few screams from Padme to get all of the goats off of big field and back to the goat yard. Below are pictures of yesterday’s visit to Big Field (the day before Padme threw a fit). The bell you hear is attached to Fool’s collar. Eventually, we will have bells on all of the goats.

Stay tuned to see why Skippy would not leave the goat yard.
