We took the goats up to Big Field. We thought they would eat the grass and enjoy a change of scenery. While we were on Big Field, I decided to put the new collars on some of the goats. Fool already had his collar and did not seem to mind, so I grabbed Padme by both horns and thought Craig could easily attach the collar. However, Padme is our largest goat and she is very strong. When Padme backed up on the wet grass, I slipped to my knee. Padme flipped me like I was a toothpick. Everyone had a great laugh and Padme just kept on munching the grass. (Sorry, no one got this on video.). Guess I will have to put the collars on when we have the goats in the small pen, because I will not be trying that on Big Field again. We needed to make sure all the water buckets were filled before we left the farm. We turned on the well pump without entering the well house and tried to fill the bucket at the top of the hill. There was no water. So we went back to the well house and discovered that the freeze had caused the pipes in the well house to split. We carried the water from the faucets on city water to fill the goat water buckets. We now have our “next” project-repairing the pipes in the well house. On the farm, there is always a new project!
