Good Food, Good Music, Good Friends-As they say in Cajun country “A good time was had by ALL!” Enjoy the pictures and the music.

The crowd started gathering around noon on Saturday. Guests came from all over the world and many different parts of the US. Each person came bearing food and beverages to share. People continued to arrive and depart all day long. By late afternoon, the musicians started opening their music cases and playing in small groups of 5-10. There were 3 or 4 groups of musicians playing in different areas of the house and yard at any one time. The food continued to change all day and it was hard to choose a favorite. Although the majority of guests departed by 11pm, the diehards continued to play and sing until 3 am (Sunday Morning). The “clean up party” began on Sunday morning around 9 am with coffee and King Cake for breakfast. A smaller group of musicians gathered in the kitchen to sing and play music. The “clean up party” is just an excuse for the extended family and some of the musicians to start the party over on Sunday morning (although some cleaning does actually occur). Francois (or Dr. Ancelet) who roasted the pig on Saturday, started two large pots of gumbo on Sunday while the kitchen musicians sang the new tunes they had written and recorded in the past year and the old favorites. The Gumbo was served at 12:30 which signified the end of the party until MLK weekend next year. The doctors, lawyers, dentists, PhD’s, nurses, professors, artist, poets, authors, photographers, bankers, professional musicians, brokers, financial analyst, business owners, chefs, and teachers all had to return to the real world (by plane or car) to go back to work after a wonderful Cajun weekend of sharing, eating, music, and fun. Barry and Caroline’s home will hopefully return to normal until next year when we will all descend upon them again. Thank you Caroline and Barry, and all of your family who worked to make this a fantastic time!
The last picture below is of the visitors from France washing dishes on Monday morning!
Below is a combination of videos taken on Sunday morning in the kitchen of Barry and Caroline’s home. Hope you enjoy the video!
