The trail cameras show that there is still at least one black bear and a mangy coyote on the property. Deer are also on the property, but daytime activity will most probably decrease with the arrival of deer season.
Prior to the freeze, the vines of the honeydew and cantaloupe were telling us that harvest time was here. The harvested honeydew and cantaloupe were given to our friends and family. Unfortunately, the freeze forced us to harvest the watermelon and the balance of the late cantaloupe and honeydew. Few of these “late bloomers” were eatable.
