The bird nets have been removed because the corn is so tall that it reached the netting. We should see tassels any day now.
Below: Picture 1 shows that the hanging pumpkin is still getting larger. Pictures 2, 3, and 4 show the cords that have been installed for the honeydew and cantaloupe vines. The plan is to train the vines to go up the cords and have hanging fruit from the trellis (we hope). Our Atlantic Giant pumpkins are still growing despite the heat. Our largest to date is 80 pounds. Maybe this pumpkin will weigh more than its sister did.
