The second day of fishing at Grand Isle was even better than the first. Clayton’s fish is almost bigger than he is.
Below is a slideshow of Grand Isle beach pictures including a group effort sand castle. Note the tiny crab that Gretchen is holding.
Slideshow below: The bird netting at the farm worked and this time, we got to actually pick black berries and raspberries. Look at the size of these berries. You have to wait until the berry is just about to fall before picking. Otherwise, the berry is a little too tart for my taste.
There was either a tornado or unbelievable winds two nights ago at the farm. It sounded worse than many hurricanes that I have experienced- just a MUCH MUCH shorter duration. Half of the Corn was blown down and some trees were down. Luckily, some neighbors were out early clearing the road, so we were able to get passed the very large tree that had fallen across the road.

Slideshow below: The Watermelon seeds have sprouted and are actually growing. The pace of growth is MUCH slower than the pumpkins, so hopefully these vines will get moving soon. I’ll let you know when we see any flowers or watermelons.
We are waiting on pictures of Hermione, Jelly, Ivanka, Ghost, and Coke Case in their new home. They were supposed to arrive at their new home tonight. As you know, goats eat hay, briars, and grass. Slideshow BELOW: However, they love being treated to All Stock (sweet feed). (Corn and All Stock for goats are like ice cream and chocolate for humans, and should be given as treats and in small amounts). The exception to this rule is if there is not enough grass and briar for grazing and the diet must be supplemented. We mix minerals from Manna Pro in with the All Stock when we feed the goats once or twice a week.
