Goats, Fishing, Flowers, Pumpkin pollination, and Bats

Fool seems to like wearing the Pit Vipers (sunglasses). The last slide is Quinn holding Camo (Ghost). Camo is still not crazy about being held.

Bass fishing in Florida- all catch and release- Things got better as the trip progressed! Flip through the pictures below. The last one is 4.8 pounds.

Flip through the pictures below. Bruce received a large packet of Zinnia seeds for his birthday. He planted them along the fence, so we should have more flowers in a few weeks. We also cut some of the Zinnias and Dahlias for the house. (You need to remove the leaves of Zinnias before you put them in a vase. There is so much foliage that the flowers will not fit if you leave the leaves.)

Flip through the pictures below. If you have read the previous blogs, you now know how to differentiate between a male and female pumpkin flower. (Hint-female has a bulb below the flower and a male does not have a bulb. This slideshow shows lots of pumpkin flowers in different stages. Note the male flower that we break off to use to pollinate the one female flower we found open. (Just in case the bees and butterflies don’t get the job done.

When we planted pumpkins, we put two or three seeds in each pile of dirt. If all the seeds sprout, they will not grow properly due to crowding. Instead of pinching out the extra plants, we decided to transplant the extra plants to other spots. The last few slides are of the replanting of the pumpkins. Guess we will have to wait and see if that works.

Watch below as Camo calls for her ‘MAAA” and watch how fast her mother responds.
