The pumpkins are growing fast, but no flowers yet. We will have blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries soon.

These pumpkins were planted about three weeks ago. Hard to believe they can grow that fast. The flowers against the fence are Mexican sunflowers (if we kept track of the correct seed packet).

Here is a bumble bee working the blueberry bush. You may enjoy the previous post on the bumblebee. Go check it out!

It won’t be long before we can pick these blueberries. They have to turn blue first. Blueberries will not get sweeter once they are harvested, so it is important that the berry is blue and very loose before you pick it.

Our blackberries are in all different stages. There are flowers still on the bush, and then small black berries (which are green or pinkish) and bigger blackberries that should start turning black soon. We put bird netting over the blackberries and raspberries so that we get to eat the berries instead of feeding the birds our raspberries and blackberries.

Raspberries are flourishing.

Look at the different stages of the flowers which will become raspberries. Some of these flowers have been pollinated and are beginning to form fruit. Others have just opened. We will follow-up to show you the raspberries as they grow.
