Watermelons, rain, Canada, and Pumpkin Bread recipe

It doesn’t look like we got any rain in Woodville, Mississippi, despite radar showing a green and red cloud passing directly over the farm. We checked on the watermelons and they are still not ready to harvest.

The rain gauge in Baton Rouge showed 1.6 inches on Monday, July 31, 2023, but the majority of the time that it was raining, the rain was blowing sideways. Our neighbors are still without power and people on the “neighborhood” social media are saying it was worse than a hurricane for the 30 minutes that it rained in our area. I think we got a lot more than 1.6 inches of rain based on the accumulation of water in my back yard. Below is a picture of the crepe myrtle flowers that were washed to the drain in this short period. The flowers and leaves from this area and the patio filled two large garbage cans. Traffic lights were also victims of the wind and electrical outage.

The gardens (slideshow below) are in Banff. The hike was the upper lakes of Kananaskis. The Chopins returned to TX yesterday, so these are the last of our Banff pictures. Thank you for sharing your trip with us!
