We thought last week was bad with wind that blew down the corn, but today beat that storm. The hail was terrible and lasted fifteen minutes. We received over an inch of rain in less than 30 minutes.

We thought the storm was going to miss us. Be carful what you wish for! We said we hoped we got “a little rain” and almost immediately the wind changed and we were in the purple of the storm instead of the outskirts. The wind was so strong it brought down the newest Purple Martin House- actually last year’s Father’s Day gift.
During the break in the rain, Bruce and Craig hoisted the Purple Mountain back up. It leans a little and has a few good dents, but we think the birds will be happy to reclaim their home.

Robby boiled the crawfish while Bruce and Craig got the Purple Martin house back on the pole. Actually the pole was bent and had to be cut and inserted back into the base. Now the house is 3 feet closer to the ground. The house is also a little bent, but it appears the birds are already headed back to the house.

All we need now is a Tiger Win! Geaux Tigers!
